Exists To:
We believe that evangelism shouldn’t be program-focused but student-focused. While we have certain evangelism events (like the Third Level Coffeehouse), our goal is to train students to be evangelists at their schools. We accomplish this through Youth Evangelism Explosion, the annual Hang Ten Day, and other opportunities for students to be involved in reaching their campuses.
RAISE them to
We raise our students primarily through cell groups, which will begin sometime this spring. The cell groups will provide a basis for youth members to get to know one another and to connect individually with a member of the youth staff. The big focus of our ministry is on Christian training through relationships. As a result, our youth ministry team seeks to have strong personal relationships with each student.
ENJOY one another and
True biblical fellowship is more than pizza and volleyball. At DYM, we want our students to become a true community of young people. We strive to make the youth ministry a safe place for teenagers, where they can come and be free of rejection and criticism and be accepted for who they are as they are. We are working through monthly fellowships, cell groups, and coffeehouse ministry to create an environment free from social classes.
CELEBRATE Christ’s presence and
The 516 Praise Band leads worship at DYM services every Sunday night at 6 p.m. Each week a praise service becomes a vital part of the DYM ministry. Our weekly prayer meeting is another important opportunity for students to worship. We also encourage teenagers to live lives of worship to God through sacrificial giving to missions, and living lives of worship each day of the week.
EMPOWER them to
We empower our students to ministry through providing consistent opportunities for service. From the weekly meetings of the praise band and drama teams, to opportunities for weekly evangelism, to yearly missions trips, we seek to raise students to become missions to their neighbors and the world.
REACH the Nations!
DYM is focused on reaching the nations—both our own and those around the world. Our student-led missions support team leads the way in promoting missions giving and sponsoring missionary support projects. We have occasional missions speakers in youth service. And during the summer we take a missions trip to another country.
